Typical application scenarios of intelligent welding robots

Release Time:

2025-06-11

Welding of large components: for example, automatic welding of long weld seams on excavator booms and ship decks, the efficiency of which is increased by more than 5 times compared with manual welding by means of a rail-mounted robot equipped with a double-wire MIG welding gun.

1. Automotive Manufacturing

Body Welding: For multi-station welding of doors, floor panels, and frames, e.g., Tesla SuperWorks uses 1,000+ robots to realize fully automated welding of body-in-white, with a beat time of < 60 sec/piece.

Battery casing welding: Seal welding of aluminum alloy battery trays, using laser vision tracking to ensure weld seam tightness (leakage rate < 10-⁹Pa・m³/s).

2. Aerospace

Aluminum alloy / Titanium alloy structural parts: such as aircraft wing wall panels, rocket fuel tanks friction stir welding (FSW) robot, through the force control system to control the welding pressure, to avoid deformation of thin-walled parts.

Complex curved surface welding: using 7-axis robot + laser welding to realize all-position welding of complex pipes in combustion chambers of aerospace engines, and the weld inspection pass rate is > 99%.

3. Construction Machinery and Ships

Welding of large components: for example, automatic welding of long weld seams on excavator booms and ship decks, using a rail-mounted robot equipped with a double-wire MIG welding gun, the efficiency of which is more than 5 times higher than that of manual welding.

Welding of corrosion-resistant steels: For high strength steels used in offshore engineering, the robot can precisely control the heat input and reduce the risk of weld cracks.

4. New Energy and Electronics

Photovoltaic bracket welding: high-speed TIG welding of stainless steel bracket, robot positioning accuracy ±0.2mm, to meet the requirements of photovoltaic module installation accuracy.

Electronic component micro-welding: micro-robot (load < 5kg) for lithium battery lugs, sensor leads laser spot welding, welding spot diameter < 0.1mm.
